The Common Ground Declaration

A statement from the people of the Americas, to each other.

One hemisphere. 35 countries. All neighbors.

Every flag below marks a nation proud and free to govern itself; bound to every other by the ground we share.

We, the people of the Americas, declare that we are neighbors.

We respect every border between us. Each one marks a sovereign nation, proud and free to govern itself. And still, across every one of them, we are neighbors, sharing family, food, music, work, and a hope for the next generation.

What we share is greater than what divides us. And the surest way to build on it is the simplest one: to talk to each other, where we live and across the continent, about the common ground we already stand on.

So we add our names. Not against anyone, but for something. For neighbors over strangers, connection over division, one hemisphere and one future.

And we make one promise: to keep the conversation going with the people around us.
