Theophilus Albert Marryshow is remembered as the Father of West Indian Federation. A journalist and statesman from St. George's, he founded the newspaper The West Indian and spent decades championing self-government and unity among the Caribbean islands, earning him a place among Grenada's National Heroes.
Grenada's national motto is Ever Conscious of God We Aspire, Build and Advance as One People. It reflects an island shaped by nutmeg groves, volcanic peaks, and a strong sense of shared purpose.
